“I wanted to express my thanks for the Portico housing opportunity. I simply feel more secure and am happier than I've been in 3 years. My PTSD is existent but better. I'm taking things head-on instead of fearing them. I honestly believe God is working in my life. Too many positives have happened for any other explanation. I'm trying to be Christ-like in my actions, helping others with no expectation of a return. It is a lot to comprehend actually. I truly believe I am in the right place at the right time and God has put me here. Have a blessed and safe day.” - A Portico Workforce Housing Solutions guest. At Love INC we work with our partner churches and ministries to provide a "different, developmental, transformational service." Where have you seen the goodness of humanity in Tampa? Share some little love stories...Lately I’ve been so inspired by companies that have shifted away from their normal productions to produce things like hand sanitizer, masks, and medical devices.

How have you seen the goodness of humanity recently?

Open Arms breakfast was very different by design this Sunday and probably beyond...

The coronavirus pandemic has dramatically altered how we serve our struggling neighbors with dignity.

While we don’t want to abandon our guests who depend on us for hot food and warm fellowship each Sunday. And, in the interest of everyone’s health, we are doing breakfast very differently.

With the church closed, 4 tables, 12 feet apart in the Hyde Park Church parking lot served a Metropolitan Ministries bag lunch and water bottle for guests.

Love INC Sunday at Open Arms typically attracts six + volunteers. This Sunday, Love INC vision carrier Thad Bereday was the lone servant heart.

If you are called to safely support our neighbors in need on future Sundays or any time, reach out to us at www.loveinctampa.org/volunteer/

“So give. Give generously and continuously.” Acts 2: 42

A message from our Executive Director Ann:

I wanted to communicate directly on the status of Love INC Help Center’s operations as we move ahead to address the local and national recommended responses for the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Help Center operations will remain open Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00PM. Our staff will be on site and we have notified our volunteers that their participation during their regular shift is voluntary. Most have generously continued to give of their time.

We know that this is a time when many people will be needing to access services.

We are staying up to date on all of the community services that are continuing and those which are postponed so that we can give the best guidance and resource to our guest should they seek our assistance.

We are reaching out to all of our long-term guests through their Resource Navigators and those we are currently working with to let them know we care about them and are still available for them.

I am working remotely following Doctor’s advice,
while supporting my staff, volunteers and the individuals and families we serve.

We pray you all stay well and we trust that God’s strength and peace is with our community, nation and world as we navigate through this challenging time. Thank you for your continued support of our mission and I will keep you updated. Please note that our April 7th Breakfast has been postponed but you will be receiving additional information about that soon.

Blessings and Joy!

Ann M. Doyle
Executive Director

Love Story update! Shalandra is a Portico Cafe employee and 2019 referral to Love INC from our partner church The Portico, the downtown mission of Hyde Park United Methodist Church. To reunify with her two children requires employment (she works two jobs!), safe housing and reliable transportation. Love INC member churches pooled resources ($3,200) to add to Shalandra's required sacrificial contribution, and together we were able to transform a St. Andrew's Episcopal Church - Tampa member's donated van into the wheels she needs! This is what the mobilized church looks like. ... See MoreSee Less

During Mike's mid-2019 appointment with Great Clips stylist Laushan, she shared how she was saving her spare change to help Love INC at year-end. Near year-end, the change jar with $200 had been stolen! Laushan said she would start saving again. Yesterday, she proudly gave Mike $100 and joyfully inquired: “How will you use my donation?” Mike shared a photo of Shalandra R., single mom with two children and how the donation will help with her van, which needs $2,500 to rebuild the transmission.Love INC service is transforming Shalandra, Laushan, our member churches, their volunteers and our Tampa community. ... In 2016, Love INC member church, 34th Street Church Of God, transitioned God’s Pedal Power Ministry (GPPM) from a University Baptist church location to its East Tampa location as one of its outreach programs.

Four years later, church leaders shared that the GPPM bicycle ministry needed a makeover to improve outcomes for their transportation insecure guests.

Love INC member churches and their volunteers are currently serving our member church in need. Love INC staff guides the processes to transform GPPM. Love INC exists to serve its member churches.
